You will find us on ON THE BEACH Beach 69th Street, Rockaway Beach, NY. When you arrive at the board walk, you will easily be able to spot us under our Light Blue tent With our Logo of the Statue Of Liberty Holding a Surf Board. OR look for us at our blue container. 

Absolutely! There are enough consistent waves to satisfy anyone from a beginner to an expert right here in NYC. As a testament to this fact, New York had its first world tour professional contest with the Quicksilver Pro. The waves break consistently as well so we are able to hold lessons almost every day. So, why not give surfing a try and take a few surf lessons with New York Surf School in Rockaway Beach?! 

Come like a regular day at the beach, have your bathing suit on underneath. Bring water, sunscreen and a towel.

IN the Summer and Fall Come about 15 minutes before your scheduled class. In the Winter and Early Spring, about 20 minutes prior so we can get you your boots, gloves, wetsuit etc.

We give lessons 7 days a week from June to September. On Weekends and at Students request in January, FEbruary March, April, May, October, November, December

​You can reserve by calling us to reserve a date, browsing to our website and Choosing your desired lesson. We also accept walk-ins however it depends on how many students we have for the day.

It depends on what your overall goal is. We progress our Students thorough all levels until they are ready to go off on their own. our goal is to help you fall in love with surfing, and give you all the safety information you need to have a safe pleasant experience.

Absolutely! We cater to all levels. Beginners, Intermediates and Advanced.

​We do surf in the rain, if you’d prefer not to come out on a rainy day, we can reschedule. In the event of a storm we reserve the right to reschedule any lessons scheduled for that day and time.

You will be nice and toasty in the water! We have season appropriate wetsuits for all 4 seasons!

Yes, you don’t have to be the greatest swimmer in the world, just be comfortable in the water

We recommend a 2 hour lesson. In a small group this is $90

Yes, we will put you in a group that is at your level.

Absolutely. Tips are always appreciated by our team. YOu can do it in a few ways. We have a list of our instructors with their Venmo Codes on the Beach for you to scan. YOu can give it them in cash. OR you can add on the tip to your final amount once your lesson is completed.

We are a NSSIA (National Surf School and Instructor Association) Certified School and our instructors also hold that qualification as well as being CPR certified. We also employ instructors that are ISA (INternational Surf Association) and BWRAG (Big Wave Risk Assessment Group) certified
